$A ∖ B = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}$ and $B ∖ A = {7, 8}$ .
Hence
$A △ B = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} \cup {7, 8} = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8}$ .
