Open in App
Solution

Given that:
f(x)=2x+3
To find:
f1(4)=?
Solution:
A function is one-to=one for which every element of the range of the function corresponds to exactly one element of the domain.
Since, f is a linear function, we can say f is one-to-one and hence f1 exits.
Let y=f(x)=2x+3
or, y3=2x
or, y32=x
or, y=x32 (Interchange x and y)
or, f1(x)=y=x32
or, f1(4)=432
or, f1(4)=12
