Solution

(i)

Given universal set is { 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 } .

A = { 1, 2, 3, 4 }

Therefore, A =UA={ 5,6,7,8,9 } .

(ii)

B={ 2,4,6,8 }

Therefore, B'={ 1,3,5,7,9 } .

(iii)

AC={ 1,2,3,4,5,6 }

Therefore, ( AC )'={ 7,8,9 }

(iv)

AB={ 1,2,3,4,6,8 }

Therefore, ( AB )'={ 5,7,9 }

(v)

A ={ 5,6,7,8,9 }

Thus, ( A ) ={ 1,2,3,4 }=A

(vi)

BC={ 4,6 } BC=B(BC) ={ 2,4,6,8 }{ 4,6 } ={ 2,8 }

Therefore, ( BC )'={ 1,3,4,5,6,7,9 } .
