Question

Let us consider a Boat floating in a river then If a Boat consist of waste of iron pieces say that then iron pieces are 5 kg if we drop one piece of iron into the river then what happens to the level of the water in the river

Solution

When the iron pieces were in the boat, the weight of iron were balanced by the buoyant force.

Vidi = Vℓ dℓ

Vℓ, Vi = volue of liquid and iron respectively

dℓ, di= density of liquid and stone respectively

Since, di > dℓ ∴ Vi< Vℓ
Therefore when iron put in water, the level of water falls
