f(x)=4x2+4x+5
Differentiating the above function with respect to x.
f(x)=8x+4
=0
Or
8x+4=0
x=12.
Now
f′′(x)=8
or
f′′(x)x=12<0
Hence the function attains a maximum value at x equal to 12.
Therefore
f(12)=4(14)+42+5
=1+2+5
=6.
