  3. The vibration plane in an electric field is always perpendicular to the direction of the light wave.
  4. This phenomenon shown by the light is due to its transverse nature
  5. If the waves are transverse in nature, then the vibrations are always perpendicular to the direction wave.

Hence, light waves can be polarized because these waves are transverse in nature.
