Question

Like we have allotropes of certain elements. Like carbon. Eg:- graphite and diamond. So it's called an another form of carbon. So can Fe (II) and others like iron be called allotropes?

Dear student, Fe(II) is not an allotrope of Iron it is only showing different oxidation state of Iron. Iron has two allotropes only ,they are alpha iron and gamma iron. The alpha iron (α) is a body-centered cubic and the gamma iron (γ) is a face-centered cubic. Regards
