The two disadvantages of using biomass as fuel are

1. It produces carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

2. It takes more energy to plant ,cultivate and harvest the crops and trees than it is worth to get a net energy gain.

There is difference in the disadvantages of use of biogas and biomas like biogas is less polluting and cost effective, but biomass is more polluting and is expensive to cultivate biomass crops.
