Nervous System

The organ system that helps in the control and coordination of other organ systems in the body is called the nervous system. The nervous system is divided into two parts: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

Functions

1. The nervous system (CNS) helps in the processing of stimuli, i.e., it helps in receiving and generating a response to a particular stimulus.
2. The spinal cord, which is a part of the central nervous system acts as the centre for reflex action.
3. The nervous system is also responsible for human emotions.
