Solution

Metals are substances that follow certain properties-

  • Metals are usually hard ( sodium and potassium are exceptions for this case since they are soft metals ).
  • Metals can produce ringing sound when sound, i.e.., sonorous.
  • Metals have a high boiling point and melting point.
  • Metals are malleable and ductile in nature ( substances that can be hammered and can make into sheets are called malleability, and substances that can be drawn into wires are called ductility.).
  • Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.

Since metals are good conductors of heat, they can be used for making utensils.

Metals usually have a high melting point, so metals are highly tolerant to temperature and do not undergo any reaction.

These properties make metals used as utensils for cooking food.

Example: iron,(Fe) aluminium (Al).
