1. Big shopkeepers sell the handicrafts at a very high price and pay very little amount to the craftsmen.
2. Handicraft items are nowadays replaced by machines as they take lesser time and people to make the item.

These made the machine made items cheaper and hence items produced in machines are of better preference for the customers than the handicraft items.
