Five uses of man-made isotopes are given as follows-
1. Radioactive tracer compounds, commonly known as radio-pharmaceuticals can be used to have a look on the functionality of various organs of the body.
2. A gamma ray emitter known as Tc-99m is in wide use in the field of medical diagnostics.
3. A man-made radio-isotope Iodine-131 is used for treating some malfunctionalities and tumors of the thyroid gland.
4. Man-made radio-isotopes are much used in various industries as industrial radiation sources of alpha, beta and gamma rays.
5. Chromium-51 is an artificially prepared radio-isotope used to trace sand to study coastal erosion.
