Solution

The correct option is C A-4, B-3, C-1, D-2.
A) No of electrons present in an orbit =2n2. For example in n=2 shell =2(2)2=8 electrons. In 2s orbital 2 electrons and in 2p orbital 6 electrons are present.

B) The number of orbitals in an orbit is n2. For n=2, there are 22=4 orbitals. 1 s and 3 p orbitals making total = 4.

C) The maximum number of electrons in an orbital is 2 always.

D) The number of subshells in an orbit is equal to n. For example, if n value is 3, the number of subshells in the third shell is 3 that is 3s orbital, 3p orbitals, and 3d orbitals.

Thus, A4,B3,C1,D2.

Hence, th correct option is C
