Instructions: Answer should have the following point:
Could not suppress the revolts
Did not intervene in Deccan affairs
Followed humanitarian approach; built new towns, hospitals, etc.
Muhammad Khan revolted in his last years
Solution:
Firoz Shah Tughluq succeeded Muhammad-bin-Tughluq. He could not suppress revolts and was not able to win back the lost provinces. A Bahmani prince invited Firoz to intervene in the affairs of the Deccan, but he rejected it.
His contributions are as follows:
From humanitarian perspective, he created charities to aid poor Muslims, built colleges, mosques, and hospitals and waived off the debts of the agriculturalists.
He built new towns such as Firozabad, Jaunpur, Hissar and Firozpur.
But during his last years, his own son Muhammad Khan revolted against him. Firoz Shah died in September 1388, at the age of 83.
