Radiation is defined as the energy which travels through space in the form of waves or particles.
Hence, radiation is also a form of transfer of energy that does not necessarily depend on the presence of a medium.
Radiation can be either ionizing or non-ionizing depending on the energy of the radiating particles or waves.
Ionizing radiations are generally high-energy radiations, while non-ionizing radiations are low-energy radiation.
There are mainly four types of radiation:
