It helps the soil to retain more moisture.Continue water supply needed to provide moisture.
No need of chemical or inorganic fertilizers.It needs chemical fertilizers to provide nutrients.
It helps to grow beneficial bacteria and fungi that produce humus(nutrient-rich substance).Bacteria are not generally found due to lack of organic substance.
Fertility of soil increases as organic substances are used.Fertility of soil decrease as use of chemical fertilizer is essential to maintain production.
It is very cost effective as it uses the waste material like leaves , grasses,cow dunk etc.It is quite costly as every time we need to invest in various fertilizers and pesticides.
