Solution

There are numerous ways that humanity can contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions are:

Reduce air travel

  1. For the first time in 2017, carbon dioxide emissions from transportation outpaced those from electricity generation.
  2. Transportation has surpassed agriculture as the leading generator of greenhouse gases.
  3. You can save 1.6 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per year by eliminating just one roundtrip transatlantic flight.

Increase the effectiveness of your driving

  1. While not everyone can live without a car, try substituting bike rides, bus rides, train rides, or other types of public transit for car travel.
  2. Reduce your carbon footprint by driving slowly and only using the air conditioner when necessary.

Trees should be planted

  1. One of the major sources of carbon emissions is deforestation.
  2. Trees absorb and store carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but if they are cut down, they can no longer do so.
  3. Planting trees is one of the most cost-effective and natural solutions to lessen our negative environmental impact.

Make the switch to green energy

  1. Another option to help minimize carbon emissions is to use clean energy. Solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal energy are all sustainable energy sources that emit low carbon emissions and reduce our reliance on natural gas and resource extraction.

Reduce your intake of red meat

  1. For every gram of beef produced, about 220 grams of carbon dioxide is created, accounting for over 4% of total GHG emissions.
  2. By eating more vegetarian meals or consuming less beef, we can reduce the quantity of carbon in our atmosphere.
