Solution

Dear Student,

Plants chief excretory products are carbon dioxide, water, and oxygen and other include latex, quinine, resins, tannin and opium.

Plants do not have any specialized excretory organs so it utilizes its various structures to manage waste products.
  • Plants excrete gaseous waste products (carbon dioxide during respiration and oxygen during photosynthesis) through stomata and lenticels of the stem.
  • The excess water absorbed from roots is also lost through stomata via transpiration.
  • Waste products may store in leaves that fall.
  • Gums, resins etc. secreted by the plant are stored in old xylem tissues.
