List the measures that you will take when designing a sound-proof room.

In order to design a sound-proof room the following measures can be taken:

(1) The roof of the enclosure should be covered by sound absorbing materials. For example- it could be covered by a layer of Plaster of Paris over sheets of thermocol.

(2) The walls of the enclosure should be covered by sound absorbing materials like wooden strips, foam or curtains.

(3) The floor should be laid down with thick carpets.

(4) The machine parts of all the electrical equipment such as fans, air conditioners etc. must be placed outside the enclosure.

(5) Thick curtains can be used to cover the doors and keep them closed.
