Solution: Lymph is basically tissue fluid flowing in a set of vessels called the lymphatic vessels.
The functions of lymph are
Providing nutrients and oxygen: The lymph provides nutrients and oxygen to such body parts where blood does not reach.
Absorption of fats (fatty acids): The fatty acids produced as an end product of breakdown of fats in the small intestine are absorbed into the lacteal which is a lymphatic vessel carrying lymph.
Protection against pathogens: The lymph has presence of lymphocytes which aid in removing any pathogen that has entered the body.
