The most accepted one out of these is the transpiration pull model. Transpiration is the process by which water is lost by plants in the form of vapours through the stomata (an opening or pore-like structure in plants). This process is affected mainly by factors like surrounding temperature, humidity, light intensity and also by the effect of wind and the stomatal density.
