Pollutants - The substances that cause adverse effects and cause harm are called pollutants.

For Example - Dust, Carbon monoxide (CO), and smoke.

Harmful effects of air pollution-

• It causes respiratory diseases in humans.
• It causes global warming.
• Pollutants like oxides of sulfur and nitrogen when getting dissolved in rainwater and cause acid rain.
• The release of certain chemicals causes depletion of the ozone layer.
