Functions of villi:
The prime function of villi is to increase the surface area of the wall of the small intestinal for absorption of the digested food.
Helps in the transfer of the proteins to all cells and tissues by absorbing the protein molecules.
These villi contain many blood vessels that help in the absorption of digested food and carry it to the bloodstream. Later, from the bloodstream, the absorbed food is delivered to each cell of the body.
