List two government policies that promote education in India.

Education is important and hence it is made as a basic right for every child in India, be it a boy or a girl. In India, students do not have to pay any fees for education till class 10th. Some government policies were enacted to promote education as well. They are listed below:

  1. RTE or Right To Education Act of 2009 states that every child aged 6-14 years has the right to free and compulsory education.
  2. Balika Samridhi Yojana (August 15 1997) provides 500 Rupees to mothers with a girl child. It also provides annual scholarships to promote girl's education.
