Step 1: Start at the origin.

Step 2: Move 1 unit in the horizontal direction which is the x-axis (rightwards).
$∴$ X-coordinate = 1
Step 3: Now, move 5 units in the vertical direction (upwards) which is the y-axis.
$∴$ y-coordinate = 5

Marked location (1, 5) on the coordinate plane shown below is the point at which the science fair is located.
