log8=log(x1)log20. solve for x?

Open in App
Solution

x=161
Given : log(8)=log(x1)log(20)
Add log(20) to both sides and flip the equation :
log(x1)=log(8)+log(20)
Addition implies multiplication within the argument:
log(x1)=log(8×20)
log(x1)=log(160)
The argument must be equal :
x1=160
Add one to both sides :
x=161
