What are the adverse effect of destruction of forest?

There are lots of adverse effect of the destruction of the forest. Some of these are given below.
1. Forest help in maintaining the water cycle of a place which includes raining. Destruction of forests leads to an imbalance in the water cycle hence may lead to drought or flood.
2. Forest also absorb the greenhouse gases. But due to the destruction of the forest, the amount of greenhouse gases is increasing leading to global warming.
3. Trees of the roots of forest pull up the groundwater increasing the groundwater level. Destruction in the forest affects the groundwater table negatively.
4. Forest provides habitat to a lot of animals. Their destruction is causing widespread habitat loss to a lot of species of animals.
