Look at the given reaction. HydrochloricAcid+SodiumHydroxide(base)SodiumChloride(salt)+Water. Sodium chloride formed in this reaction remains in solution form. Can we get solid sodium chloride from this solution? Suggest a method (if any).

Evaporation:-

  1. Sodium chloride formed after the reaction of Hydrochloric acid with Sodium hydroxide, will form a true Sodium chloride solution when dissolved.
  2. Reaction : HCl(aq)Hydrochloricacid+NaOH(aq)SodiumhydroxideNaCl(aq)SodiumChloride+H2O(l)Water
  3. Evaporation is actually a method used for separating a mixture of a solvent and a soluble solid.
  4. This evaporation process involves the heating of the solution until the solvent evaporates and starts turning into the gas which will leave behind the solid residue.
  5. This is most used method for the preparation of Sodium Chloride also known as Common Salt.

Therefore, by using this evaporation process all the water will get evaporated and will leave behind only solid Sodium chloride.
