Look at the rate list given below and find the total estimate cost of 22 kg of plastic, 23 kg of waste-paper, and 12 kg of iron. Will it be more or less than Rs 500?

Price of 1 kg plastic = ₹ 10
The total price for 22 kg plastic = 22 × ₹10 = ₹220
Price of 1 kg waste paper = ₹ 4
The total price for 23 kg waste paper = 23 × ₹4 = ₹92
92 can rounded off as ₹90.
Price of 1 kg iron = ₹ 12
The total price for 12 kg iron = 12 × ₹12
This can be rounded off as 12 × ₹10 = ₹120
Thus, the estimated cost will be = 220 + 90 + 120 = ₹ 430
Hence, the approximate cost will be less than ₹500.
