Solution

The correct option is A None of these
Effective atomic number (EAN), a number that represents the total number of electrons surrounding the nucleus of a metal atom in a metal complex. It is composed of the metal atom's electrons and the bonding electrons from the surrounding electron-donating atoms and molecules.
and calculated as

EAN=Atomic number of central atom - oxidation number + Total number of electron gain

here,
Mo(CO)x(NO)y+NO−−COMo(NO)z

according to question
EAN of M in reactant = EAN of M in product=54
i.e

M0+(1×x+1×y)=M0+1×z=54

M+x+y=M+z=54

M+x+y=M+z

x+yz=0
thus, the correct answer is D.
