Question

maam in normal fertilization usually 1 pollen grain enters into the embryo sac and fertilizes. Here it contains 2 male gamete on of which fuses with the egg cell and the other fuse with the polar nuclei. and maam as you mentioned that in heterofertilization 2 pollen grains are entering so there would be 4 male gamete out of which 1 will fuse wih the eggcell and the other one will fuse with the polar nuclei so my question here is that what will bethe fate of the rest 2 male gamete out of the 4 male gametes from the 2 pollen grain

Solution

One male gamete of one pollen grain will fuse with Egg cell and one male gamete of Second pollen tube will fuse with polar nuclei and remaining nucleus of both pollen tubes won't be able to fuse egg/Polar nuclei due to genetic as well physiological factors.
