The region around the glomerular apparatus which consists of afferent and the efferent arteriole, along with the Bowman's capsule is called the Juxta Glomerular Apparatus (JGA). It contains three different type of cells. These are the macula densa cells which are found along the DCT, granular cells found on the wall of the afferent arteriole, and the extraglomerular mesangial cells which are found in between the efferent and afferent arteriole. JGA plays a role in altering glomerular pressure.
