You must have observed that when you bring a magnet close to an iron object it attracts to it but as you move your magnet farther from the object it doesn't attract to it.This is because as you move away from a magnet, the magnetic force reduces gradually and fades away finally, which implies that magnetic lines of force are upto a finite region around the magnet.
