The magnetic moment is given as M=iπR2, which has the direction normal to it's plane of motion, and direction of current decides the upward and downward direction of the magnetic moment.

Similarly spinning angular momentum is also perpendicular to plane of motion, it's direction is decided by it's velocity, which is opposite to the direction of current.
