Question

Magnification produced by a convex lens is always?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
A convex lens can form both virtual and real images. Thus, we can say that magnification produced by a convex lens can either be positive or negative.
Magnification is positive for virtual image and negative for real image.

Magnification will be more than 1 when image is larger than the object and when image is same size as that of the object, magnification will be equal to 1.If the image is smaller than the object then the magnification is less than 1.
