Tuberculosis is a type of communicable, infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacterium primarily affects lungs, but may spread to other body parts also. The disease is characterized by the following symptoms:

• Excessive sweating, especially at night
• Fatigue
• Fever
• Weight loss
• Breathing difficulty
• Chest pain
• Wheezing
