Make a scatter diagram for the following data and state the type of correlation between X and Y.

Solution

The scatter diagram is obtained by plotting the values of Series X on the X-axis and values of Series Y on the Y-axis. Plotting the values (10,70), (20,140), ..... (50,350) on the graph paper, we get the scatter diagram:

We can say that there is a perfect positive correlation between the values of Series X and Series Y.
