The timeline of all the events are as follows:-
1878- Arms Act and Vernacular Press Act was passed
1883- Introduction of Ilbert Bill
1885- Formation of Indian National Congress
1905- Partition of Bengal announced by Lord Curzon
1907- Congress spilt at Surat session where Congress split into two part-Moderates and Extremists.
1909- Morley-Minto Reforms or the Indian Council Act introduced.
1914- First World war started
1916-18- Home Rule Movement by Tilak and Annie Besant
1919- Rowlatt Act introduced and on 13 April Jallianwala Bagh tragedy at Amritsar.
1919- Montague Chelmsford Reform or the Government of India Act, 1919 announced.
1922- Chauri Chauri incident which led to the suspension of the Non-cooperation movement.
1925- Kakori Conspiracy Case by revolutionaries
1927- Appointment of the Simon Commission.
26 Jan, 1930- First Independence Day observed
1930- Mahatma Gandhi launches the Civil Disobedience Movement with his epic Dandi march.
1931- Gandhi Irwin pact signed and Civil Disobedience movement suspended.
1932- Poona pact signed.
1935- Government of India Act passed.
1940- Lahore session of the Muslim league passes the Pakistan Resolution.
1942- Churchill announces the Cripps Mission. Quit India resolution was passed by the Bombay session of the AICC, which led to the start of a historical civil disobedience movement across India.
1942- Indian National Army was formed by Indian nationalists (Mohan Singh) in Southeast Asia.
1946-Royal Air Force Mutiny of 1946 between British and Indian air force units and in December First Session of the Constituent Assembly.
1947- British Prime Minister Attlee declares that the British government would leave India by June 1948. Mountbatten Plan for partition of India was announced.
15 August 1947- India gets independence.
