Blood platelets produce the thromboplastin at the site of injury with the help of coagulating factor.
Thromboplastin converts prothrombin, inactive plasma protein into the active form, thrombin in presence of Ca++.
Fibrinogen, plasma protein converts into insoluble fibrin monomer by thrombin in presence of Ca++.
Fibrin molecules change into fine fiber in presence of air. These fine fibers form the fibrin net, and RBCs and WBCs get trapped within a network of fibers. This results in coagulation of the blood.
