a) The mangroves mostly grow in the tropical and subtropical regions. In India, they are found in the Sundarban delta, Godavari-Krishna delta, the Pichavaram forest near Chidambaram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gulf of Kutch and Bhitarkanika.
b) Mangrove forests are also known as tidal forests because of their location. The Sundarban has the largest mangrove forest, spread over 140,000 hectares, on the Ganga-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta at the Bay of Bengal.
c) The Royal Bengal Tiger is the most famous carnivorous animal associated with the Mangrove Forests. They are found in the Sundarbans. The red mangrove, black mangrove, white mangrove and large-leaf mangrove off generas Acanthaceae, Arecaceae, Rhizophoraceae, etc. are the most famous trees associated with mangrove forests around the globe. In India, Sundari tree is found in most abundance in the Sundarban forest (hence the name) and is the most famous tree associated with the forest.
