Manoj went to a paper industry. the manager of paper industry insisted that H₂O_{​​​​2} to be used for bleaching instead of chlorine Manoj had learnt the chlorine is also a bleaching agent.
why is H_{​​​​​​2}​​​​​O_​2 used instead of Cl_{​​​​​2}.

When Cl is used as a bleach there is formation of organo chloride compounds which are environmentally harmful. On the other hand H2O2 does not form any polluting compounds and hence is preferred.
