• Many environmentalists believe that large areas of forests are degraded because of overgrazing and fuelwood. This may be true to an extent but not completely agreeable because other than grazing and fuel purposes, forests are being cut down by people.
  
• Urbanization, industrialization and growing population demanded for clearing of forests.
  
• Some people are destroying wild life for mere satisfaction like hunting.
  
• Hence, apart from gazing and fuel purposes there are many reasons why forests are being cleared.
