2. This is, however, of not much help as-Burning of fossil fuels leads to acid rain which spreads over large areas killing vegetation, and water bodies and causing harm to human beings and their assets
3. Polluting units add greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
4. They have a global warming effect.
5. Many air pollutants enter the stratosphere and deplete the protective ozone layer.
6. Sewage entering water bodies is unsuitable for consumption because it causes many waterborne diseases. It has scales, an unpleasant odor, and an unpleasant taste.
7. When industrial wastewater is discharged into the soil, many toxic chemicals and heavy metals slowly seep into it and mix with the groundwater.
