Manya has three times as many sweets a Puja. If manya gives eight sweets to puja, they both will have the same number of sweet. How many sweet does each of them have?

let no of sweets Puja has $= x$

no. of sweets Manya has $= 3 x$

when Manya gives 8 sweets to Puja , then

No. of sweets Puja has $= x + 8$

No. of sweets Manya has $= 3 x - 8$

according to problem ; $x + 8 = 3 x - 8$

$16 = 3 x - x$

$16 = 2 x$

$8 = x$

$∴$ no. of sweets Puja has $= 8$

No. of sweets Manya has $= 3 \times 8 = 24$
