Marasmus is caused due to deficiency of both proteins as well as calorie intake. Hence, shrunken belly and face.
Kwashiorkor is the disorder in which calorie intake is normal but severe deficiency of protein intake. Hence, enlarged belly and swollen face.
So the correct version should be like-
Marasmus and Kwashiorkor are both protein deficiency defects. Marasmus differs from Kwashiorkor in having a shrinking belly and face.
