(i) Odd term - Marasmus, Category - Vitamin deficiency diseases

The deficiency of vitamin C can cause scurvy, a disease that is characterized by bleeding gums, skin spots, and swelling in joints.

Vitamin A deficiency in those below five years of age suffers from xerophthalmia, a serious eye disorder, in which the child is at risk of becoming blind.

Pellagra is the disease due to the deficiency of vitamins. Pellagra is defined by the systemic disease resulting from niacin deficiency, and it is characterised by diarrhoea, dermatitis, dementia, and death, which usually appear in this order.

Marasmus is caused by severe malnutrition. It is characterized by significant weight loss.

(ii)Odd term - Iodine, Category - Vitamins

Vitamin B1 is also known as Thiamine. Vitamin B2 is known as Riboflavin. Folate is the natural form of vitamin B9. Iodine is an essential trace mineral that is important for human health in various ways. This mineral is required for the thyroid gland to be able to produce thyroid hormones which play a role in metabolism and weight control
