The correct option is
C 1 - B, 2 - C, 3 - A
Adaptation refers to the mechanisms (morphological, physiological or behavioural) which an organism uses to adjust or acclimatize to changes around them.
When an organism uses behavioural strategies to adapt to its environment, it is known as behavioural adaptations. One such example is the tendency of some desert animals to hide inside burrows during extremely hot days.
Deserts are famous for their hot and dry climate and in summers, the days can be too hot which is not ideal for the survival of the animals inhabiting it. Thus some animals hide themselves in burrows to keep themselves cool and escape from excessive dehydration due to the scorching heat. Examples include reptiles like the Gila monster and Harris antelope squirrel of the North American desert.

Specialised structures that helps in adapting to the environment are referred to as morphological adaptations. Desert plants or xerophytic plants are adapted to live in hot and dry climates. Desert habitats have a major scarcity of water. Hence xerophytic plants have special morphological and physiological adaptations to conserve water in the body. Presence of sunken stomata, buried in pits, helps to prevent the loss of water via transpiration (loss water in the form of water vapour through stomata).

Camels are known as the ship of the desert as they are an ideal mode of transport through the desert. The camel has many morphological adaptations like heavy eyelashes to protect the eyes from the sand, reduced nostril size to reduce loss of moisture during exhalation, etc.
Some of the physiological adaptations in camels include oxidation of fats in the hump to generate water as a by product and production of thick and concentrated urine by the kidneys to conserve water.
