Solution

(i) The additive inverse of a number x is the number that when added to x yields zero. It is obtained by reversing the sign of the number. The additive inverse of 2 is -2.

(ii) The greatest negative integer is -1.

(iii) The greatest negative even integer is -2.

(iv) The smallest integer greater than every negative integer is 0.

(v) Sum of predecessor and successor of -1 is -2.

The predecessor of a number is obtained by subtracting one from the number.

The successor of a number is obtained by adding one to the number.

The predecessor of -1 = -1 - 1 = -2

The successor of -1 = -1 + 1 = 0

Now, sum of -2 and 0 = -2 + 0 = -2

Hence, the correct matching is

(i) b (ii) e (iii) b

(iv) a (v) b
