Solution

(a) Pore bearing animals (iii) Porifera

  1. Porifera refer to organisms with holes or 'pores' all over the body.
  2. Members of the Phylum Porifera are commonly known as sponges.
  3. Porifera’s body is covered by skin that has lots of small pores and a few large openings.

(b) Diploblastic (ii) Coelenterata

  1. Coelenterates are aquatic, mainly marine, sessile, or free-swimming radial symmetrical animals.
  2. They are Diploblastic and have two germ layers, i.e., Ectoderm and Endoderm.

(c) Metameric segmentation (vi) Annelida

  1. Annelida is a phylum of maybe aquatic (marine or freshwater) or terrestrial, free-living and sometimes parasitic organisms.
  2. The body of the organisms is divided into segments or metameres, hence, the phylum name Annelida.

(d) Jointed legs (i) Arthropoda

  1. In the kingdom animalia, arthropods form the largest phylum.
  2. This phylum include animals having an exoskeleton, a segmented body, and paired jointed appendages.

(e) Soft bodied animals (v) Mollusca

  1. In the kingdom animalia, Mollusca form the second largest phylum.
  2. A calcareous shell covers the body and it has a distinct head, muscular foot, and visceral hump.
  3. The visceral hump is covered with a soft and spongy layer of skin forms a mantle.

(f) Spiny skinned animals (iv) Echinodermata

  1. All the organisms in the Echinodermata phylum are exclusively marine and free living.
  2. These animals have an exoskeleton of calcareous ossicles, hence Echinodermata (spiny bodied).
  3. The adult organism of the phylum has radial symmetry, but the larva has bilateral symmetry.
