Primary alcohols are those in which the hydroxyl group is attached to a primary carbon atom.
When the -OH group is attached to a secondary carbon, it is called secondary alcohol.
When the -OH group is attached to a tertiary carbon, it is called tertiary alcohol.
And the alcohol having two hydroxyl groups on adjacent carbon atoms is glycol.
